Matt was raised in
Libby, Montana. Matt attended The University of
Montana, graduating with a Political Science degree
in 1993. Matt graduated from the University of
Montana School of Law in 1996. As an undergraduate,
he was a member of the Golden Key National Honor
Society.
Matt joined the firm in 1996 as an intern, during
his third year of law school. At the same time Matt
prosecuted misdemeanor criminal matters for the
Missoula County Attorney's Office. In 2001, Matt
left Worden Thane to focus on trial work. He
re-joined the firm in the fall of 2004. His practice
has centered around all aspects of
civil litigation
representing both plaintiffs and defendants in
matters dealing with
insurance
law,
real
estate matters, landlord tenant issues,
personal
injury,
commercial
litigation and
employment law. He also
practices in the areas of
arbitration,
collections,
contract
law,
mediation, and
products
liability. He
is admitted to practice before all State and Federal
Courts of Montana.
Matt is a member of the Montana Defense Trial
Lawyers, the Western Montana Bar Association, the
Montana State Bar Association, and the American Bar
Association. Matt is also a graduate of the
International Defense Counsel Trial Academy, class
of 2003.
Matt has served as a director of the Camp Fire Boys
and Girls program, and currently sits on the board
of directors for the Missoula Mavericks American
Legion Baseball Team. In his free time Matt coaches
his children in baseball, softball and wrestling. He
also enjoys trap shooting and fly fishing.
